Education

BA in Biological Sciences from Wellesley College, Class of 2015. 3.54 GPA

Experience

Honestly, I did pretty well in high school. My GPA was a 3.8 and I got a 2120 on the SAT (Reading 770, Math 690, Writing 660 - Mathematics Level II 770). In college though, I came to realize that I no longer bought into the quest for the "perfect" GPA. Yes, maintaining a decent GPA is an easy way to ensure you are understanding the material and putting in sufficient effort to reap the benefits of learning, but aimless "perfection" is not necessary - to learn and understand is so much more valuable. I will always push my students to understand, but I will also encourage patience and tolerance of the self. Learning is not always easy - - but that's what tutors are for.

Hobbies

I enjoy and value math and science, but illustration and theater have been my two favorite pastimes for most of my young-adult life. I am a very tactile person, in that sense. I like creating things with my hands, I like building. As a result I am a strong supporter of writing things out by hand and of illustrating ideas, whether that be though pen and paper, gestures, or meticulous explanation as needed.
